Next to the train station in Uppsala a new hotel has been built in a former post office building. It features a bright golden faceted facade. Hotel Academia, designed by Archus Architecture, attracts attention.
The facade consists of two different panel types and in two different AluNatur Gold colors. The highest building is clad in large, flat Aluminium Composite Panels that have been mounted on the facade with seemingly different depths. The lower building was clad in square single skin panels that have been mounted with even more visible depth. The color that was chosen is our AluNatur Gold. Interestingly, it is actually all the same color on the tower building. Two gloss levels (90 gloss units and 40 gloss units) have been applied giving the facade a "living" color feel.
The hotel has 198 rooms and conference rooms for up to 160 people in the largest venue, as well as gym and relaxation. Up to the eleventh floor with stunning panoramic views, the restaurant offers Miss Voon flavors of Asia. The ground plan includes The Bishop Arms with outdoor seating.
